Pets abandoned by their owners.

It was difficult to watch hungry “pets” after the de-occupation of towns and villages, which people were forced to abandon while fleeing and leaving their homes. The volunteers of the HREST Charitable Organization are not indifferent to our “smaller brothers,” especially in the difficult times of a full-scale invasion, when sometimes they had to choose between saving people's lives or leaving animals to fend for themselves. Many animals have suffered in this regard during the war. Volunteers encountered many abandoned pets on their way, but most of them were dogs, so there was always dog food in the volunteer car.

It was especially horrific to see animals that volunteers found locked in enclosures and survived after terrible fighting and shelling.
